Alligator Attack Saves Entrepreneur In Online Rescue Mission

Hi Friend,

‘Thanks, Ed - I just paid one hundred and ninety seven dollars for nearly the same information!’

This comment I received last week after sending out my Super-Power Profits Blueprint newsletter. It is typical of the complimentary feedback I receive from my subscribers each week.

Two points here. Firstly, it warns you how easily it is to be wripped off in the internet marketing world. Secondly, it emphasises the information I give you just for being a loyal subscriber is highly valuable, so please do use it to the best of your abilities. Don’t get had! (Thanks Howard Coffey for your kind words and I hope you were able to get your money back).

In today’s newsletter I’m going to reveal a sneaky short cut to sky rocket your online income no matter what niche you are in or are about to enter.

But first let me give you some essential information you need to know when setting up any internet business. Do it this way and your growth potential will be fast and smooth. Don’t take my advice and you’ll hit the wall just before your income is about to go sky high.

Getting The Most From Your Host

I agree it can seem a little tricky when setting up your first web site. You must choose a domain name (name for your web site), register it at a registrar’s site (so that you own the domain) and then set up a hosting account (this is basically where you rent a place in ‘cyberspace’ where you upload all your internet pages for the whole world to see).

Now, because there are so many different places to register your domain and host your account, choosing the right one can seem like trying to find a potato in a field of turnips. And if you choose the wrong one to start with you may well run into trouble later on. This could prevent the growth of your business from taking off, and, just because of a poorly thought out web site set up, it could mean your profits hit a premature ceiling. That’s definitely not what you want!

Let me explain…

Recently I wanted to expand one of my web sites by adding a blog and a membership area.

Why Add A Blog And Member Area To Your Site?

Because blogs are a brilliant way of organically increasing traffic to your web site. Google recognises blogs as quality content which often gets regularly updated. Therefore, they reward blogs by promoting them quickly up the search engine rankings. In terms of SEO (search engine optimisation) by adding a blog to your site you can be at the top of Google very quickly.

Adding a membership site will mean that you’ll get a recurring passive monthly income as each of your subscribers pays their subscription every month. This is the ultimate automatic income formula and a goal that you should be aiming for. This way you’ll have the money you deserve and the time with which to spend it.

Anyway, I contacted my host (who will remain nameless although I would love to crucify them publicly just so that nobody else has to suffer their incompetence!) to ask if they could facilitate my upgrades. To cut a long story short, they couldn’t. The reason they couldn’t was because they did not have a ‘cpanel’. What’s a cpanel I hear you cry? Basically it’s a control panel that helps you configure any of the components, files, etc in your hosting account for your web site.

Without a cpanel you’re screwed. My host providers gave me a whole load of other techie instructions, the majority of which, unless I’d been a rocket scientist, I didn’t understand. Now I know a bit about computers, even a few nerdie bits (he reluctantly admits!) just because I’ve been doing this for so long. However, even after following all their painstakingly slow instructions I made absolutely no progress whatsoever! In fact, it turned out, I actually new more than the numpties on the other end of the line, who were simply reading gooble-dee-gook from a script.

Basically, without the cpanel I would need to be a computer programmer with treble glazed lenses to make the changes I wanted. That not being the case, I decided to look for hosting elsewhere.

So, if you only remember one lesson from this newsletter, when it comes to hosting, please make sure you get an account that has a cpanel – it costs no extra money and it’ll save you going bald from pulling all your hair out in the long run!

The other thing you should do if you’re setting up a web site from scratch is register your domain name at the same company who is going to be looking after your hosting (the one with a cpanel just to reiterate). This makes everything sooooo much easier. If it does so happen that you’ve already registered your domain elsewhere, don’t panic. You have two options…

Option one, if you have plenty of time before your site goes live you can transfer your domain registration to your hosting company. This usually takes two to three weeks so give yourself plenty of time.

Option two, if you need to get up and running quickly, sort out your hosting and once everything is uploaded contact your registrar and tell them the name of your ‘nameservers’ at your hosting account. You will usually be provided with two named ‘nameservers’ in your welcome email when you set up your hosting. If not, contact your host by phone or email and they will be able to tell you what they are. Then you’re away!

There is of course another option if your web site is already up and running with a host that has no cpanel and you don’t want any interruption to your web site. This crap third option is to go through the hassle I went through. Putting it as simply as I can this means:

  1. Find a host with a cpanel.
  2. Set up a hosting account there with your domain name.
  3. Download all your internet files on to your home computer as a back up.
  4. Request to the new host to transfer all your internet files (and email accounts if applicable). Often they can’t do this (particularly email accounts) because of the lack of a cpanel at your current host – see what I mean by the hassle caused by having no cpanel!!!
  5. Check all your web pages are working. Often you will be provided with a link in your welcome email which will allow you to check your web pages before you have changed your domain name nameservers.
  6. Finally, once all this is done, contact your domain name registrar and tell them the name of the nameservers at your new host. It should then take approximately twenty four to forty eight hours for the changes to be implemented.

Phew! We got there in the end. I know this sounds all a bit geeky but it is important. It’s also my job to help you get your online business up and running as quickly and as smoothly as possible. And loaded with this information you can incorporate with your online business set up that I have given you in my Super-Power Profits Blueprint over the last few weeks. [For back issues of my VPT Solution newsletters remember you can click on the link at the bottom].

And just so that you don’t have to go hunting around in the dark I’m going to stick my neck out and tell you that I would one hundred and fifty percent recommend

www.hostgator.com

Yes the name ‘hostgator’ is a play on the word ‘alligator’ but unlike my last host these guys do not bite! They saved me and they’re who I now use. www.hostgator.com

have an easy to understand cpanel so normal people like you and I can use it. I’ve had no problem adding member site software, such as dlguard.com. Plus the cpanel has enabled me to add a blog to my web site which has greatly increased my traffic. If I can do it anybody can and now I can take my web site to a whole new level of profit.

www.hostgator.com

are good value. With their ‘baby’ package for less than ten dollars a month you can host an unlimited number of domains. Their twenty-four seven customer support is excellent, be it by email, online or telephone. There are, of course, other companies you could use but these, in my opinion, are one of the best. And you know by now I rarely recommend anything unless I think it’s particularly superb.

Stealth Joint Ventures

I started by saying I’d reveal a sneaky trick to explode your online income. Well you’ve been patient so here it is and it has to do with finding JV partners that you can one hundred percent guarantee are interested in JV proposals.

This technique that I stumbled upon whilst doing some web site research involves searching for potential JV partners on competitors web sites. Essentially you look for web sites in your niche market, visit their site, look for testimonials from other marketers on their web site and click on the link to the site that provided the testimonial.

You know their site will be in a related niche otherwise their testimonial would not be displayed. And you know they are likely to be receptive to a JV approach email because the very fact they are advertising their link on someone else’s web site mean they are already joint venture partnering.

This technique is very powerful, so much so that I was going to keep it under wraps. But I decided just to let my subscribers know to reward your loyalty to me. Next week I am going to reveal full details together with a training video so you can learn exactly what you have to do. Whether you are a JV broker for Virtual Property Tycoon, your own site or for any other site you can earn big money with this.

The stealth JV strategy works extremely well and remember, as I pay one hundred dollars for each JV deal you set up, you can make a lot of money using it. Many of my JV brokers are already earning good money setting up deals for VPT and I know you’re going to want in on the action asap.

Tune in next week,

Ed Walters
